Elder Burlingame Is Going to Be An Uncle!

I was looking forward to telling my brother he was going to be an Uncle! That is the one wish he asked for before leaving on his mission - returning to a niece or nephew.  I was so boring and didn't do anything special to tell my family we were expecting that I wanted to do something unique for him.  Even though we had known we were expecting for almost two months, we had still only told my parents.  What better way to incorporate good news into a late Easter package?!

I've seen cute decorated packages on pinterest before but I didn't have time to go all out during our move.  I worked with the scraps of paper I had and walla!  I was pretty proud of my bunny I free-handed.  I wrote on the package to record himself like 3x.  This was a demand before he could open the package ;)

Since he's away from home with no family around I tried to incorporate a tradition of the Burlingame's.  In my immediate family, we have an Easter tradition to make these sweet, sugary, peanut butter, marshmallow, m&m yummy nests to munch on!  I'm 24 and it will be mandatory to make in my home probably for the rest of my life, its that good.  So I decided to make it and give Parker some so he could still be apart of the Easter tradition and enjoy a sweet treat.  I wrapped it up in plastic wrap 2x - hoping it stayed fresh and soft in the travel.

With the family tradition nest and my favorite Reese's peanut butter eggs, I made up some kicker sayings, hoping he would understand what this package was trying to get across.  I closed it up and left it at that.

Here is the cute recordings I received on his next P-day.  I cried.  So glad I have these for keepsakes.
