Valentine's Day

I want to share our first "love day" story.  It started at midnight when I stayed up pushing/encouraging Mr. J to continue studying for midterms until a little after 2am (usually I just go to bed when I'm tired and let him be because I'm not a night owl).  Then, we restarted our day at 6am for more studying. 10 minutes after the alarm clock went off, I frantically yelled for Jade to make sure he was awake - he was just shaving in the bathroom and I thought he had fallen back asleep (I was half asleep still).  I laid my head back on my pillow but would wake up every now and then to check on Jade's studying.  It was about 8am and I knew I needed to get up to make breakfast, but I was so shaky feeling.  It has been a very long time since I have stayed up that late and not gotten my 7-8 hours of sleep each night.  I didn't run to the store the night before v day as planned - we packed our night back to back with appointments and homework (not recommended).  So we didn't have milk.  Waffles it was. Jade scrambled to shove a waffle down his throat as he packed up his backpack and rushed out the door.  I threw on my coat and boots and searched for the keys. Keys in hand and I was out the door.  Mr. J made it to class on time and I walked in our apt to find his phone.  This was not good. I knew he had a very busy day ahead: he offered to be the mailman of a "love letter", meet with his BOM group, finish preparing his business mid-term, meet with his Science group, and take an exam all between his classes and before the 5pm deadline.  This was not a day for him to forget his phone.  I immediately jumped on my email (going old fashioned communication here) and sent him a little message hoping he would use his laptop during one of his group meetings.  SCORE!  He responded and I was able to give it to him between his classes.  I decorated our studio with white christmas lights for a "romantic feel" and clothes pinned some pictures we had displayed at our wedding reception in remembrance of our early love life.  It was fun going through our "old time" pictures I haven't seen for a couple months and see how much we have grown together.   I decided it was a day to enjoy a cute heart-shaped pizza together.  Stopping at Papa Murphy's on a Valentine's evening was not a good idea, let alone traffic in our little college town was out of the norm crazy!  Bonus: Papa Murphy's gave free cookies out :) so it was worth it?! Definitely. YUM!

*don't mind our little garbage needing a take out and our storage tote stored under our table; remember we live in a S T U D I O apartment!
Our love pizza was hot and ready by the time Jade was ready to be picked up!  We sat down, enjoyed our meal, and chatted.  Then we got dressed up and went to our stake Valentine's dance.  Yes, a dance.  Yes, I know Mr. J doesn't like to dance.  But I do, and he loves me, so he went with - sweet right!  Well, it was just like a stake dance from when I was sixteen; very few dancing and most were sitting at the tables eating dessert or along the side of the walls watching other couples dance.  Naturally, we dove into the desserts.  I had to make sure Mr. J got his sweet tooth fix!  After that, I had him dance an entire slow dance with me - he was dying and then when I tried to freestyle to the next song....he stood like a board and I looked like a fool, so we left.  Our apartment complex was putting on a dance too with a photoshoot, giveaways, a dj, and more desserts.  We went and participated and danced with some of our friends.  It was a more relaxed setting, so I was able to get more out of Mr. J :)

Sadly, these are the only pictures we have from this day.
Overall, a great night spent with my sweetheart and forever Valentine!
The end.
